Why is that a jezebel article?

It’s actually an interesting read.

But considering it’s one of the top 3 Gawker articles at the moment, sharing it to Jalopnik wasn’t really necessary. Jalopnik has one of the smallest (relatively speaking) audiences in the Gawker-sphere, but I wonder if there’s been a big push to cross-promote readers to the other sites.

I thought it was really interesting, but aside from taking place on a boat, no relation to vehicles.

This is true. But this is the same Jalopnik that shares “we should ban cars” stories from Gizmodo because they’re about cars.

(Of course they could also be goading us into posting on Gizmodo and being part of the debate, but that doesn’t really work when our side of things is left in the gray.)

I think they just share all the flagship articles between the various platforms. I've seen Jalopnik articles on Gawker and Jezebel that seemed out of place as well.

Yeah I know there have been some really out of place shares before. Like a Star Wars article just because somebody on Jalop staff liked it. Some of Jalop staff’s Twitter musings has indicated as much as well (a writer mentions they liked an article on a different Gawker site, then said article gets shared to Jalop).

I’m starting to suspect that Patrick George has no backbone. My theory is that gawker needs cash badly to pay for two very large lawsuits that they are going to lose. So they are pushing their marketplace features and pressuring satellite editors like Patrick to share the clickbaik stuff. Why else would he share Alisa Walker’s verbal diarrhea? Gawker knows a bunch of jalopnik readers will click and comment on her articles, which improves their bottom line. But they are pushing this crap too far. I’ve significantly cut my time on jalopnik since Walker’s crap started showing up.

There's been a shift, less feminism, more gawker from women. Not sure what the end goal is there.
